Paul Perez Proposes Development Of Broadband In Trenton

Paul Perez Banner Logo

CANDIDATE FOR MAYOR OF TRENTON-PAUL PEREZ, PROPOSES DEVELOPMENT OF BROADBAND

Ultra-high-speed internet network is critical infrastructure for growth.

TRENTON, N.J. – Mayoral candidate, Paul Perez, presented the creation of a city wide ultra-high-speed broadband internet network as the foundation to spark all other economic development projects for New Jersey’s capital city. “To lead Trenton in a new direction we have to provide the city with a foundation that can support all the other proposals and projects on which to build a new future,” he stated. “A new future requires making critical public infrastructure investments that will drive of business productivity, security, investment, and economic growth.” Proposed as the Trenton Broadband Initiative (TBI), it centers on the development of a city wide ultra-high-speed broadband network delivering speeds of 1Gbps and above.

A ultrahigh-speed network can attract IT startups, investors and other businesses that rely on such infrastructure, as well as provide broadband connectivity to schools, colleges and the general public at affordable prices. “Through a public-private partnership we can develop an affordable broadband network and create the conditions for schools, colleges, businesses and even the State offices to have a reliable and resilient IT infrastructure, ” he stated.

“Providing high speed internet connectivity allows us the capacity to bridge the digital divide, increasing the educational and social inequalities that many Trentonians face. It’s that simple.”

According to a 2013 UNESCO report found that doubling the broadband speed for an
economy can increase GDP growth by 0.3% on average and is an important factor to spur economic growth in the overall economy.

“We do not have to reinvent the wheel. What is missing is the capacity to execute, and the spirit to reach out, and topromote our willingness to do business. Utilizing current resources and key partnerships, we intend to strengthen education resources, support small businesses and attract domestic and international investors,” Mr. Perez added.

Paul Perez Interview With Adam Bierman Of Princeton TV

Paul Perez Banner Logo

Candidate For Mayor of Trenton Paul Perez Interviews with Adam Bierman of Princeton TV.

Watch my video with Adam Bierman of Princeton TV. In the video I discuss topics regarding current ELEC rules, the reasons why I’m running for mayor and what I will do in the first 90 days of my administration.

I also discuss how I’d create a new relationship with Governor Christie and how we can build  relationships at the federal and state level.  Trenton needs a leader with true reach-back capabilities and I believe I’m the most qualified to get people outside of the city to believe we are properly governing it again.

This election is the important one for the city of Trenton in decades. I look forward to sharing my vision for how I will lead Trenton in a new direction and show the world that the city is open for business again.

Paul Perez Introduction Video From The Big Easy Debate

Paul Perez Banner Logo

Watch this video about me to learn why I think I’m the best candidate to lead the city of Trenton in a new direction.  The video was shot at a debate I attended at the Big Easy in Trenton and I quickly discuss my past accomplishments as well as why I believe I have what it takes to change Trenton for the better.

I was one of the 3 Trenton mayoral candidates who showed up to discuss my ideas and I am always willing to debate the issues.  The Paul Perez campaign continues to move forward based on true organic growth as more people hear about what we seek to do.

I have Federal executive experience I can bring to the city of Trenton and I believe I am amply prepared to exhibit true leadership to get the city out of its current economic and public safety crisis.

Paul Perez Says, “No ‘Beau Crow’ In Trenton”

Paul Perez Banner Logo

There Will Be No ‘Beau Crow’ In Trenton:

I’d like to add my voice to the rising chorus of individuals, organizations, and leaders who thanked Arizona Governor Jane Brewer for vetoing a proposed law that would have allowed business owners to discriminate against gay and lesbian Americans under the veil of religious freedom.

Trenton has a rich civil rights history. The Hedgepeth and Williams families went to court because black children were told they could not attend their neighborhood school. We are happy to see Arizona did not legalize discrimination against men and women because of their sexual orientation. It will have no place in Trenton.

Arizona Governor Jan Brewer decided yesterday to veto the law, which passed the state’s House of Representatives recently 33-27. The law would have allowed business owners to refuse to serve a patron if they assert that they would violate their own religious beliefs by doing so.

As mayor, I will work tirelessly to ensure that all Trentonians are treated equally and with dignity. Yet, as Martin Luther King taught us, ‘injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.’ We all have an obligation to speak up on behalf of our brothers and sisters when they need us. I will address all groups targeted for injustice in Trenton because I believe ‘everybody counts’.

Paul Perez Reacts To Former Mayor Tony Mack’s Removal From Office

Paul Perez Banner Logo

Paul Perez, Candidate For Mayor of Trenton 2014 On Former Mayor Tony Mack’s Removal From Office

Former Mayor Tony Mack has been judicially removed from office. This sad chapter in Trenton’s history has now closed. It is now time for us to heal as a community and look forward to leading Trenton in a new, brighter direction.

The dismal experiences of our recent past need not continue. Councilman Muschal has assumed the reigns as Trenton’s interim Mayor. He has a difficult task ahead, but I pledge him my unbiased support in his efforts to restore competent leadership and efficient government for the benefit of all Trentonians.

Trenton has a rich history. As I continue to meet residents throughout our city, I pledge to listen to their thoughts and concerns. I look forward to sharing my vision for a new and better future for Trenton and all of its residents. I stand prepared to debate all the issues and will work tirelessly to “lead the city in a new direction”.
