Watch this video about me to learn why I think I’m the best candidate to lead the city of Trenton in a new direction. The video was shot at a debate I attended at the Big Easy in Trenton and I quickly discuss my past accomplishments as well as why I believe I have what it takes to change Trenton for the better.
I was one of the 3 Trenton mayoral candidates who showed up to discuss my ideas and I am always willing to debate the issues. The Paul Perez campaign continues to move forward based on true organic growth as more people hear about what we seek to do.
I have Federal executive experience I can bring to the city of Trenton and I believe I am amply prepared to exhibit true leadership to get the city out of its current economic and public safety crisis.
I’d like to add my voice to the rising chorus of individuals, organizations, and leaders who thanked Arizona Governor Jane Brewer for vetoing a proposed law that would have allowed business owners to discriminate against gay and lesbian Americans under the veil of religious freedom.
Trenton has a rich civil rights history. The Hedgepeth and Williams families went to court because black children were told they could not attend their neighborhood school. We are happy to see Arizona did not legalize discrimination against men and women because of their sexual orientation. It will have no place in Trenton.
Arizona Governor Jan Brewer decided yesterday to veto the law, which passed the state’s House of Representatives recently 33-27. The law would have allowed business owners to refuse to serve a patron if they assert that they would violate their own religious beliefs by doing so.
As mayor, I will work tirelessly to ensure that all Trentonians are treated equally and with dignity. Yet, as Martin Luther King taught us, ‘injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.’ We all have an obligation to speak up on behalf of our brothers and sisters when they need us. I will address all groups targeted for injustice in Trenton because I believe ‘everybody counts’.

Paul Perez, Candidate For Mayor of Trenton 2014 On Former Mayor Tony Mack’s Removal From Office
Former Mayor Tony Mack has been judicially removed from office. This sad chapter in Trenton’s history has now closed. It is now time for us to heal as a community and look forward to leading Trenton in a new, brighter direction.
The dismal experiences of our recent past need not continue. Councilman Muschal has assumed the reigns as Trenton’s interim Mayor. He has a difficult task ahead, but I pledge him my unbiased support in his efforts to restore competent leadership and efficient government for the benefit of all Trentonians.
Trenton has a rich history. As I continue to meet residents throughout our city, I pledge to listen to their thoughts and concerns. I look forward to sharing my vision for a new and better future for Trenton and all of its residents. I stand prepared to debate all the issues and will work tirelessly to “lead the city in a new direction”.

Meet 2014 Trenton Mayoral Candidate Paul Perez at Trenton Social!
Thursday, February 20th will be a special night to meet Paul Perez and give him your ideas on how together, we can “lead Trenton in a new direction”. So much has occurred in the last few weeks and it’s important to learn new ideas on how to get the city out of its crisis. Paul is looking forward to meeting concerned citizens and hearing what they have to say.
Get to talk to the mayoral candidate in a private, intimate setting to give him your feedback directly!
Wine, Cheese & Hors d’oeuvres will be served.
I call on all Trenton Mayoral candidates to debate the issues:
Now that candidates have applied to be the next Mayor of our Capital City, it is time that each of them show up to be interviewed by the residents they seek to serve
The important issues facing our residents each and every day need to be addressed now! This is not the time for candidates to hide behind old carefully crafted resumes, marketing campaigns, or a computer screen. Increased safety for each resident and visitor in Trenton must be assured without any delay. The future of Trenton’s children, educational opportunities, economic development, new job opportunities and stabilizing our oppressive property tax rate are but a few of the pressing issues for Trentonians.
I will debate each and every one of the candidates and respectfully discuss the issues while continuing to articulate my vision for leading Trenton and all Trentonians in a new direction
